Hello all,

Well after reading the the latest topics about the price rise in June and the tips and tricks for saving money, I'm going to give this a shot.

I am planning to order everything I need for my planned 1850 point army from Maelstrom this month instead of after the price hike coming in June, I figure biting the bullet and doing it now will be a saving in the long run.

The reason I'd like to do a combination order is that my stuff comes to a total of 161.41 British pounds (400NZD). If someone wanted to grab a bit of stuff before the price hike as well and the total order comes to 200 British pounds or more, it means we get 4% off the price listed on the website for each item and we get free shipping AND free tracking on the postage.

So if you have a look at their site and do some calculations through www.xe.com that is all you have to pay, no hidden postage fee's, Vaul has recommended these guys and said his order showed up within a week. Also they have guarantee's on the site stating that if the goods are damaged or lost during postage they will replace them.

I'm going to be making the order on the 21st or 22nd of this month as a few things I am ordering aren't in stock right now, the plan would be if someone is keen, let me know what you are after, I'll make the order on my CC and then you can just do cash or internet payment to my account.

In the end it would sum up to good savings all around, if anyone is interested just post up and we can arrange the details.

Cheers,
-Shamar.

Shamar, bear in mind that whilst Maelstrom often put the value on the customs docket down as 10 pounds...  if they do not and the total value of your order is over NZ$300 then you could be pinged for GST by NZ Customs before the package will be delivered.  (thats 12.5% total value of your order).  As I said, just something to bear in mind  Smiley

Yeah I was checking that out just earlier trying to find out what the price limit was before they charged.

However when you make an order from maelstrom, especially of the size I'm looking at, they will be splitting it into 3 possibly 4 seperate packages as the company they use has rather small size limits on parcels.

If this is the case 500NZD worth of goods split across 3-4 packages should avoid this issue? I'm not 100% on this one but I'd like to find out, as if this is not the case, it would be cheaper to make a pair of sub 300NZD orders.

I've sent a query into Maelstrom asking if an order is split into 3 packages, is the docket for each package representative of the entire order or just what is contained in each, if I did get sprung by customs it would end up costing an extra $52 or so, while this would still be cheaper than Vagabonds I believe it wouldn't be idea.

I'll post up what their reply is.

Yeah Simon that will be fine.

I got a reply from Maelstrom last night which confirmed the packages dockets only include what is in each package and they spread the charge evenly between each package, so that way no one package will cost more than $300NZD and we will avoid customs trying to double charge us.

To gain the bonus we will just need another $50NZD worth of stuff so it comes to a total of 200 united kingdom pounds.

Anyone else need a few things?

Yeah that'd be perfect, another $50NZD and the total order will be over 200 pounds. Maelstrom will automatically split our order into three packages (this is how they do things normally) so that keeps us safe from customs trying to ping us for GST also Smiley
