Hello all,

I'm currently toying with the idea of putting my upcoming Salamander / Inquisition army onto some ironhalo bases..... HOWEVER! they are currently glued onto the default bases at the moment.

Are there any good tips and tricks for removing a model's from their bases. I currently have a 10 man tac squad, 5 man terminator squad and a dreadnought glued onto their default bases that I'd be wanting to remove.

Many thanks in advance for your advice,
-Moe.

Just rebasing my HE's...  metals aren't a problem as the old bases break off easily enough...

Plastic models though....  I had to cut under the feet of my spearmen with a craft knife to seperate them from the plastic bases without breaking the feet.  I use superglue though, which breaks off with a little work.  If you have used plastic glue/cement then you could be in for a bit more troubles...

If i have to do this and i use cement so once it drys it ant coming off. i cut the base around the feet so still some of the base is there once u have the main base out the way you can just cut the 1mm black bit off the bottom of the feet.

Thanks for the replies Smiley

I have used GW glue, so I think I am going to have to use Lazarus' strategy for getting them off their bases.

I'm making a Salamander army so the temptation to buy some 'The Fens' bases from ironhalo and paint them up like rock and lava is too tempting for me.

I need to do the same sort of things wiht some of my imperial guard. I have done it before but not without damaging the model so yeah it can be quite difficult.

I'm going to try Lazarus tactic as I'm pretty heavy with glue and I'd end up snapping half their foot off if I tried to wedge.

I'll update the post when I've got some ironhalo bases to transfer my marines onto, it's no trouble with metal models of course, you can simply snap them off the bases Smiley no damage reported doing this so far.
