I haven't seen any publicity for this around the place, but found it in my ramblings this evening.

Info can be found here http://www.warlords.org.nz/CalltoArms2009.htm

40k, Fantasy and all kinds of other games

Sneakily, today is the last day for $35 entry, thereafter it is $50.

Very sneaky indeed...  I don't recall receiving an email about this either...  although it may have gotten lost in my inbox somewhere.

Suffice to say my entry is already now made...

Ha... not going. Couldn't get the leave pass and finances sorted. Opted for Runefang instead so I can beat down on all the poor helpless Wellingtonians without all the tough guys there (Vod, Reid, Dave, you etc).

So now all I have to face is Pete, Harry, Joe, Nick, Nick et al. Wonderful.

As it turns out I am flying down Saturday morning to Runefang! Fingers crossed extra hard it works! ("it" being the plane).

Nothing was sent out,but i did mine yesterday and sent emails to everyone in chch that i thought would want to go.Still seems odd have a cut off date 3 months out.

Not sure if it has been mentioned else where (seemingly a lack of info forthcoming about this one on the whole..   Huh)

Seems that the "deadline" for cheaper $35 entries has been extended until the end of June...

Details etc above in Nicks initial post.

Phew, I was almost going to shed a tear in public had I missed the cut off date for CtA this year. Hopefully myself and maybe two or three more lads will be turning up as well.

@Philfy: Are you bringning your HE force to CtA? (Just thought a grudge match was in order. *Yipe! What have I just done? Huh*)

Sorry guys, but I left it too late and well, long story short I wont be playing at CtA. I will still be making it to FoB, but this means that I will need to maybe sort out another date that we can have a match Philfy.

Hi Guys,

I've done some chasing up with Registrar and Secretary and can update numbers for Fantasy at CTA.

At present the field stands at 26, as follows:

Phil Comins
Mitchell Cowen
John   Davis
Alistair Dennison
Harry   Dixon
Joe   Dixon
Hugh   Dixon
Peter Dunn
Nick   Irvine
Kent   Jackson
Joshua Kennedy
Mike    King
James Milner
Gus   Montgomery
John   Murie
Reid   Pittams
Mark   Stanton
Andrew Stanton
Mike   Thorn
Darren Urquhart
Michael Vercoe
Tony   Vodanovich
Ben   Wadsworth
Will   Wijnveld
Neil   Williamson
Peter Williamson

Looks a really strong field.

It's not too late to get onboard

Cheers

Pete

That list of attendees looks mighty high powered. Can't make it unfortunately.
If only you could play a WFB tourney over the net like Chess.

Check out Asrai.org and the WFO (Warhammer Fantasy Online) tournament: An example here - seems to have a lot of interest among the members, although I think it looks like too much hard work....

Spearhead WWII: 4
FoG 15mm: 7

What are we at the moment...  even honours?  (that will change of course after this weekend!)

But yup - sounds like an idea.

Same question was asked on the Sth Island forum...

Given the lack of Daves around anymore (The Dave Jihad is DEAD!), I'm only too happy to accept some slappage from the Captain!

I guess if we both email John Tailby we'll find out one way or another.

Something like that, we've certainly had some close games.

I guess if we both email John Tailby we'll find out one way or another.

From the Warlords Forum...  (Someone should have reminded the TO that only Warlords are Warlord Forum members....  and I haven't had an email about anything either.   Hmm..)

Quote
There are 26 confirmed registrations

The breakdown of armies is
Beasts of Chaos 2
Chaos Dwarfs 1
Daemons of Chaos 2
Dark Elves 1
Dwarfs 2
Empire 1
High Elves 3
Lizardmen 2
Ogres 2
Orcs 2
Vampires 2
Warriors of Chaos 2
Wood Elves 3

Please be at the venue by 8.30 am so we can set up the tables and terrain ready for the first round start times at 9am.

Checklist of things to bring
Terrain
Players should aim to bring at least half a tables worth of terrain. It would be appreciated if Wellington based players could bring more terrain in case people travelling from outside of Wellington cannot bring terrain. Players with more than one tables terrain would be welcome to bring additional terrain, it is better to have too much than too little. Line of sight blocking terrain is especially valuable, because it is currently scares.

Players will also need to bring base cloths wherever possible to avoid playing on unpainted table tops.

Objectives
Players should bring objective markers sufficient to support them playing the rulebook missions . IIRC that should be 5 objectives.

Players may also find it useful to bring other gaming aids like turn counters, vehcle damaged, counters, wound markers, unit status markers as is appropriate for their army.

Other things to bring
Players should also bring:
Copies of their army list.
The rule book
Dice
copies of their army book, and other army books for reference.
Measuring tape.
Glue (for that unfortunate accident)

Last thing.
We need to keep the games to time so you need to be getting your games finished within the 2.5 hours allocated. I will warn people about when the time is drawing to a close. So play fast and get through the turns.

We might have to scrape up 3 lots of trees to add to our "free" one Nick  hehe

Great to see Pete Williamson really stepping up his game - he's becoming a real threat on the battlefield by the looks of things.

Kudos and congratulation s to the winners. Nice work there Mr Urquart walking away with Best Sports. Pity vote much? Grin
