One of my regular non-cityguard weekly opponents has a daemons collection, so i'm thinking of logging a late cheesycon entry using his stuff.  The model selection he has is limited, but I think i've got a tough list together.  I  know most people have played 3-4 games already, but since i'm able to play phil, antony, scott and so on during the week or at least outside of CG i'm sure I can catch up.  The following list will require me to use a great unclean one model to represent the nurgle herald, and a daemon prince to represent the khorne herald.  But with their mounts taken into account, the base sizes will be ok?  I've never played as daemons before, and only played against them once (in fluffycon, no less), so if I was able to win with this list, it would be all due to the list.

450 - Bloodthirster
25  - Axe of Khorne
25  - Spellbreaker
25  - Immortal Fury
15  - Armour of Khorne            - 540

115 - Herald of Nurgle
50  - lvl1
50  - Palanquin
10  - Slime Trail
25  - noxious vapours
25  - BSB
50  - Standard of Sundering       - 325

100 - Herald of Khorne
50  - Juggernaut
50  - Obsidian Armour                  - 200

240 - 20x Plaguebearers
30  - FC
25  - Icon of Eternal Virulence       - 295

180 - 15x Plaguebearers (this choice is the only weird one, it's due to the fact that I only have 35 plaguebearer models total, and the only other things I can take are screamers and nurglings, from what he has.  And I need 3 core.)

240 - 20x Bloodletters
30  - FC
25  - Skull Totem         - 295

60  - 5x Furies

175 - 5x Flesh Hounds

175 - 5x Flesh Hounds

Ah sorry I went to edit it to swap the bloodletter icon with the skull totem, edited the wrong entry by mistake.  Fixed now.

I look forward to learning more about how people beat daemons and big nasties from this endevour.  I say this not because I think they can't be beaten, but because I think there are some good players who will know exactly what to do!  And then I can take notes.  For 'real' tournaments.

It will depend on when I can get the models off my friend.  But obviously if i'm enterring the tournament I will play you as soon as an opportunity arises!  The leadership stuff combo you are running will be a pain for my guys, but i'll have an easier time in some of the other matchups in this event I think.

I think Phil's high elves and Antony's dwarfs will probably be your toughest games, becuase phil's star dragon and his princes are immune to your bloodthrister, and all antony's characters as well.

and of coz, dave's unstoppable dinosaurs army... don't think anyone can stop that...

I didn't think of that.  I should swap the upgrade... but meh!  I'm in it for the learning experience.  And it wouldn't be fair to change my list based on other lists, since i'm the latecomer.  Although, could go with spellbreaker instead as it is the same points?  Should I bother?

Edit: Spellbreaker is a much better choice in hindsight.  Spellbreaker it is!  Any other noob rookie daemon list mistakes i've made before I actually start playing with this thing?

wow quick update - I might not be allowed to use the intended models after all.  Will keep you posted but this may not be going ahead.
