[have a perm mode] Go for the Treb[/have a perm mode]

It will look great, and for 90 or so points you get a good addition to your army that will give big nasties something to think about, or at least distract the sorts of things that would be better spent march blocking or diverting your knights.

Bretonnia Lord
shield
hippogryph
Sword of heroes
Gromril Great Helm
Dragon's Claw
Gauntlet of Duel
Virtue of Confidence
Not what I'd take but...
Drop the helm. A 3+ rerollable save isn't going to save you against the sorts of things that you are going to want to fight with the Sword of Heroes. Take the reroll 1s armour, or the WS 10 armour.

Paladin
barded warhorse
BSB
Virtue of Duty
Enchanted shield
Morning Star of Fracasse
You can't have the Enchanted Shield because you are not allowed a shield. I'm not sure how much the Morning Star is but I think it is more than 20 points, which is your limit if you are taking the virtue of +1 CR (30 pts).

Damsel
horse
2 dispel scrolls

Damsel
horse
dispel scroll
Chalice of Malfleur
Are you sure you've got enough magic defense   Shocked

8 Knights Errant
Full commands
errantry banner

8 Knights of the Realm
Full commands
Warbanner

20 men at arms
musician + banner

10 peasant Bowmen (skirmish)

3 pegasus knights
Cool

Grail Reilguae
2 bp

5 mounted Yeomen w/shields
musician

5 mounted Yeomen w/shields
musician
Cool

7 Grail Knights
banner
banner of defence
I don't really rate the banner of defense. Save your points.

are u sure about that? becuase i read Evan 2008 master bretonnia army list, his lord uses great helm and heavy armmor, shield barded horse and get 1+ rerollable armor save??

so my lord with shield, heavy armor, great helm, mounted should get 2+ rerollable??

5 dices and 3 scrolls not enough??  Tongue i want to make sure i can stop 2 very nasty spells per turn for 3 turns.

1+ rerollable vs str 6 is a 4+ rerollable with a 5+ ward = safe

3+ rerollable vs str 6 is Sweet FA in the way of an armour save. You don't get any armour bonus from being mounted on a monsterous mount.

Also if you make the lord too hard to kill, the Hippo will get targeted, and you'll break anyway.

I was being sarcastic about the magic defense BTW.

ic, maybe i should keep my normal setup... grail vow, grail shield, virtue of (killing blow large target)??

what setup is your lord using? Antony? I really want to aviod the blessed lance/grail shield setup.

**the points maybe wrong, becuase i don't have my book with me at the moment**

What Fuj said, but with the virtue of no out number.
That means that you will worry big naties with 4 attacks hitting on 2s at str 6 rerolling, and...
... with the virtue of no out number, against rank and file, you have a good chance of holding if you are charged with 4 str 4 rerolling to wound and 4 str 5, and a better chance of breaking if you charge them.

The enchanted shield was for a bit of extra missile defense and against the embarrasment of being knocked off the big bird by a goblin.

I am begining to thing that the armour of midsummer sun is a good item (-1 to hit), but at 45 points is not cheap.

ok.. I have decided on my lord setup
Bretonnia lord
Grail Vow
lance
Hippogryph
Virtue of Audacity
Birthsword of Carcassonne
The Grail Shield

cost a massive 439 points

str 5 reroll hit, reroll wounds VS big nasty, and 4+ ward save.
and if my beast died, I won't auto break.
and still good against rank and file with birth sword~~

OR my standard setup

Bretonnia lord
Grail Vow
lance
Hippogryph
shield
Tress of Isoulde
The Grail Shield
Virtue of Heroism

2+ to hit, 6+ killing blow large target~~ just love to see their faces when I killing blow all those EOTGs and Dragons!!!

as for BSB

I have 3 setups in mind:

Option 1:
Virtue of Purity (5+ ward) and banner of the lady :good against rank and file while still have good chance to survive..

OR

Option 2:
Virtue of Duty + sword of might (ass kicking, but fragile)

OR

Virtue of Discipline + Gromril Great helm (good overall, and 2+ rerollable save)

what do u think??

Hell yeah - update time!

Looking very nice as per usual Simon. I like the wolves on the outside of the unit turning outwards. Wonderful painting. Exceedingly pink tongues!

Hanging out for the Hippo/Baby Wyvern Lord conversion to get painted up.

hi

I used 40k ruins for my bases, just cut them up into pieces and glue them on the bases, add sand and grass.

I used foundation paints and GW paints, no P3 this time

Hello all,

I have been posting on forums like Warseer, warhammer-empire.com... etc for quite some time now, and since I almost finish my army so I figured it was time that I share my army with the greater community.

Since 8th edition is coming very soon now and GuardCon ruleset at 8th edition, so a few months ago (in May??) I decided it was time to start my new army suitable for 8th edition.

So the Whaga's Saga continues....

MY Gobotonnia army is base on a story of a young goblin wolfrider warboss named Whaga, who vowed to Gork and offered his soul to gain the power to unite the warring tribes and defeated the Bretonnians. In the aftermath of the battle, the goblins scavenged amongst the battlefield, took any shiny possessions they could get their hands on to be branded as their own. The goblins armed themselves with an assortment of swords, broken lances, shields, armours and helms etc captured in the battle, and carried as a mark of their self-evident superiority.

The goblins later became fanatically devoted to Whaga and proclaimed him to be their king and Gobotonnia was formed. Whaga was crowned as the King of Gobotonnia.

and now, in 2010.

As the years passed and Gobotonnia continued to grow in power, the rough tribes blossomed into small strong holds, their numbers multiplied and many new settlements were founded. For a number of years Whaga led the Gobotonnian and conquered any opposition that dwelt nearby.

Hordes of goblins poured across the Grey Mountains, through the passes to ravage the lands of the Bretonnia as they flocked to Whaga’s banner. In desperation, the Bretonnian sent emissaries to Altdorf (the Empire) to seek help. Fighting in common cause against the Goblins, the Empire and Bretonnia pledged to aid one another against the unstoppable greenskins.

The war between the human and the goblins continued for many years and despite the best efforts of the Gobotonnians, they were driven west into the inhospitable mountains. In desperation, the goblins grew more cunning and in one darling attack captured one of the empires greatest invention – the Steam Tank, as well as several empire’s finest master engineers. Although this victory was at great cost with more than half of the Gobotonnia knights virtually wiped out but Whaga was eager to learn the secrets of fireworks and black powders.

and here is the background for my Empire Army of Gobdorf!

Pictures to follow:
Goblin wizard??! Jester?

Goblin swordmen

Goblin free company

Goblin handgunners

Goblin Pistoliers (special thanks to Lezle for the pistoliers bits!!)

Fanagellants warband (HUGE thanks to Phil Wu and Josh for the Fanatics, been looking everywhere for them!!)

enjoy

Nice! Have you kept your Bret army on tact, or is it basically been changed to the Empire one now?

gonna use some of my gobotonnia's models in my empire army, so I can play 3, possibly 4 different armies (empire, bretonnia, goblin, dogs of war) with 1 army.  Wink
