Gobtonnia
«
on:
April 18, 2009, 04:56:31 AM »
After saved a Gnoblars tribe from a marching Bretonnia army, the gnoblars become fanatically devote to the Goblins who saved them. Being bullied by Orcs all their life, these goblins finally feel respected and the sense of power. (increased Leadership)
These Goblins carefully loot away all the shiny possession from the slaughtered bretonnia army and armed themselves to da Teff. (increased armor save)
Followed by fanatically devoted Gnoblars, these goblins become so conceited that they think they are so much better than other goblins (maybe even orcs!), and decided to create their own kingdom - Gobtonnia~~

Wow, I like the theme and the thought that has gone into this army, but I have to say it must be the softest Bretonnian army I have ever seen! What are your plans for all of the characters?

A solid army without any
any
of the red flags that you may look out for, yet quite cabable of winning.

40 points for MR3 when your Damsels give your units MR 1 anyway. Doesn't seem like a good idea to me. You've got tonnes of magic defense anyway.

I meant where are you going to deploy them all. I guess the Lord and BSB go in the grails. Can they join peasant units or do they all have to pile into knight units?

lord + paladin + damsel go with KOTR
BSB+ damsel goes with grail
knights can't join peasant units, but if any knights within 6" of a peasant unit, they can use their leadership.

Eventually. I need to base all my miniatures atm, which will take some time, and glue... which I've got to purchase... speaking of which, what is the best to glue them to the plastic bases? Is it just the GW glue or is there a cheaper alternative out there. I'm going to need quite a lot... I have a lot of snotlings

Good question. I tend to just buy commercial glues... I think they're cheaper, and frankly a proper super-glue is almost frightening in how strong the stick is (when it's liquid there's a slight attraction. Then it sets and it's like rock...)
The one useful tip I have though? Use entire tubes of glue up in one sitting, preferably soon after buying it. I've tossed a lot of glue-that-dried-up.

Do you have any names of commercial glues that are good? I'm a complete novice at this... up until now all my minis I've used for anything has been bluetac'd together
And thanks for the tip about the tubes. I shouldn't have too much problem finishing a tube at a time... there are so many minis waiting for basing at the moment.

I use to get super glue from acorn models when I went down to chch lots.
They have changed their glue but the stuff they have replaced it with is still pretty good.
http://www.acornmodels.co.nz/product_list.php?subcat=P%20R
The flash glue thin is for quick set and the thick stuff also fills gaps (no need for minor green stuff repairs).
Tell me if you wanna get some, we can make a bulk purchase.
At the mo I'm using Gorilla ultra bonder 10g reusable tube. It's like $9 from the super market and will last you 4x longer than the GW stuff.
