Some people are posting comments on my youtube videos pointing out something that they spotted in my game against a wood elf player at NATCON.  It's not a big deal for me, because it didn't really affect the game I had, but it has made me a little curious.  The Wood Elf book says your free forest can't be more than 6" in diameter, but some people think (judging by the photo shown below) that since the guy had 3 treekin and a treeman side by side with still a bit of room left, in the forest, that it might have been a bit large!  If so, no matter, i'm not going to go cry to the TO about it.  But it's a small point of interest that if wood elves show up with a funky looking wood that is designed to house a certain block of dudes for tree singing (read: tree surfing), you might want to measure it!

See Below, tell me what you think:

I call bullshit on the Wood Elves. The forest is too long. Dodgy.

6" DIAMETER? Not 6" RADIUS?

I have a certain friend who is going to be thwacked with the 6th ed hardcover... (it's the biggest Warhammer rulebook I have).

(not least for making me make some massively oversized forests Tongue )

Although the size of the forest is technically too big, and may have given Al some sneaky advantage (it does look suspiciously long and thin) he could quite easily have fitted the Treekin and Treeman in a 6" forest, but not all in a line. I wouldn't get all upset about it if I where you Luke as I don't think it effected the outcome of the game. Not like rolling a 1 to wound would though *ha ha*, *cry cry*.

It is a pretty small WHFB community in NZ, far too small for people to do anything very dodgy and too small to accuse people of cheating. Not like the anonymous world of YouTube.

Like I said in my original post, it's not something that I am at all upset about - only reason I created this thread is: should I ask my opponent about it next time?

Wood 'may' be the wrong size - but doubt its a "dodgyness" issue, more of a "terrain available" issue.

For the 'free wood' if any point is more than 3" from the center its too big in that direction.

I didn't think so. Some people on the interweb say all sorts of judgmental and ill informed things that a often offensive. I ready the comments on your YouTube page and though that they were a bit out of order, but what does someone in Iceland(or Timbuktoo) care about how Al or you or me feel about something they have written.
