Gidday.

Whilst I'm still not quite sure if I can or even want to play; being relatively new to Fantasy I will get smashed! I thought I'd post my proposed list. Wink

Arch Lector on War Alter
Guilded Armour; Hammer Of Judgement; Van Horstmanns Speculum

Captain BSB Great Weapon, Armour of Meteoric Iron

Warrior Priest Silver Horn, Sword Of Might, Barded Warhorse, Heavy Armour and shield

Master Engineer with Hochland Long Rifle

19 Greatswords Full command
Det. 5 gunners
Det. 10 Swordsmen

5 Pistoliers

Cannon and Mortar

20 Spearmen Full command
Det. 5 HG
Det. 5 Swordsmen

20 Spearmen Full command
Det. 5 HG
Det. 5 Swordsmen

6 Knights Full command

10 Hand Gunners M.M. HLR

10 Hand Gunners M.M. HLR

2 Volley Guns

2249

Ta-dah!

Taking a leaf from David Stent's book of Empire on Sunday I have managed to make it a tad more cheesy than it was. I am still struggling with what is actual cheese in Fantasy. 40K I could tell you straight off...

Comments please.

That not cheesy! your using spearmint
Have you ever heard of the knights of the holy Cannon ball?

1 x Grandmaster
3 x warrior priests

2 x stanks

3 units of 5 knights vanilla
1 units of 9 knights Full Cmd
1 units of 9 inner circle knights Full Cmd

Can you have more than one unit of IC knights in this edition?

I recommend upgrading both volley guns to steam tanks, downsize or drop the spearmen units for points.  And no, only one unit of Knights of the Inner Circle in this edition.

The char looks good, but a stream tank or 2 and a few cannons will make it cheesier. I think yr vampire count is cheesier than yr empire

Argh! I told you I didn't know cheese! Shocked Tongue

What I have is what I have.  I will not proxy. I don't have a Steam Tank! I don't wish to borrow anything either. I only have nine knights. I am going to get wasted.  Undecided

Yes, I would have to say so Simon. My V.C. are slightly smellier. I don't feel inclined to use them though.

I'll have a re-think.

Thanks for the input you lot. Smiley

Sorry Lezle - you fail the cheese test. Mind you, that could be a good thing. Your list is almost totally suitable for a standard tournament event Smiley

As previous posters have noted, something like:

Lector on Altar with Speculum and toys
2 Steam Tanks
Lots of Cannons
Inner Circle Knights accompanied by Priest
All Core choices are Knights accompanied by Priests

It's possible to make a fairly nasty army but as with "normal" lists Empire hardly compare to the dirt that VCs, Daemons, DEs, Woodies, Warriors, Lizardmen, High Elves... gee... well suffice to say they hardly compare to the dirt most army books allow for.

Snap - yeah just go with VCs. Best lose that Abyssal Terror though Tongue

It looks a little light weight to me. More guns and more tanks. Tanks are the most reliable unit in the empire army, no ld issues and mostly immune to magic.

I would be interested to see how a reasonable empire list would go however, as great cannons are a magificent leveller.

Magi-ficent leveller - one shot through a level 4 magic wielder = dead meat (maybe) Grin

An 'appropriate' Empire list....

Lector + Alter, VHS, 'other stuff' to taste (I like mace of helmstrum)
3 x Wizard, lvl 2 (+ some toys)
Core = Handgunners, or Knights (or both)
4 x Cannon
2 x Stank

Crazy magic (defense and offense), LOADS of shooting. All exepnsive stuf are immune to psyc, difficult to kill units...

Lezle, you have a cannon, mortar and 2 volley guns.
As long as you don't misfire you'll be rolling in melted mozarella!

Uh-oh!

Sorry chaps, I can't play Cheesycon. Sad

I was subtly reminded this morning of a few family things coming up on Sunday's... Embarrassed

Which means that seeing as I can't play mid-week and that I may or may not be regularly around for the next ump-teen weeks, I better pull out; I can't play ten people in the time frame allowed.

All this is beside the fact that I reluctantly said yes on Sunday when Simon asked me, as he said he needed one more player. Undecided Also, everyone has seen my "cheesy" list... Undecided Shocked Embarrassed

I believe there is someone else wanting to play; Simon talked to him on Sunday: the eleventh player?

Sorry if that puts everyone in a bind, but, well, there it is. Can't be helped.

...I have a guy in mind. Hopefully I'll see him tonight.

Frankly, Cheesycon is what he's been looking for (IMO). Smiley
