hey guys and ladies,
iam new to the hobby and as most of you will know that the models are a bit expensive!

does anybody know any stores in auckland where models and paints sell at a discounted price?
or is cheap to mailorder.
www.imperialga mes.co.nz is reasonably priced and free delivery for orders over $75.

any other nz based websites or stores in auckland?

I think this may have been discussed in another thread (that you might have already posted in), but my recommendation s include vagabonds in auckland central, once you get their $10 discount, and also http://www.maelstromgames.co.uk/

But nothing beats a good deal on trademe, or conversions/scratch build models from other materials if you can ever get away with that sort of thing.

I buy most of my stuff from Vagabonds, they do a good deal. It is 10% off, rather than $10 off, but it only applies to models I think, not paints and books etc.
Imperial games gave me great service and a good price when I bought off them. The free postage on top of that makes it nice.
I also second trademe as a great source. Painted and assembled models seem to be greatly undervalued there, and often only take a small amount of work to get looking good as new, especially if you are comfortable stripping paint off plastic models. I can't recommend 'simple green' enough. It is a cleaning product you can get from the supermarket and it takes paint off without damaging the plastic.

Painted plastic models are worth almost nothing because while the simple green won't destroy the plastic the attention with a toothbrush is quite likely to break bitz and leave paint in the detail, killing it.

Personally I can't recommend Maelstrom enough for savings if you don't need it today. Vags is great if you're needing it now but their stock is hit and miss sometimes and the trip to central city is almost not worth it if you don't need it now.

Wayde just announce that Takapuna is giving a 15% discount to club members.
But then if you were there today you would've heard that Smiley
