Hi folks,

We are running a bit behind but the AGM for CityGuard will be held on Sunday 22nd of March at Freeman's Bay Hall.

It will happen at 1:30pm.

Please don't delay turning up because of this as we do need as many club members to turn up, as we need a percentage of paid members there to hit quorum to make it all legal.

So, who wants to be on the committee? Please feel free to nominate yourself on here, and if someone can second your nomination then you are on the list of candidates.

I'll start the ball rolling by offering to re-stand as Treasurer (I'm self nominating)

That's very flattering Lezle (I think...) but I'll be stepping down unfortunately. Time for someone young and ambitious to get there and shake their money-maker.

Will still be happy to help out with tournaments/events though (CanOpener, GuardCon etc).

Quite alright.

Time for someone young and ambitious to get there and shake their money-maker.

Well, don't look at me, my "money-maker" is a paint brush and that isn't very interesting to see being shaken.

Running a club can be an intense commitment of time and energy.
A lot of the work that is done is passed off unnoticed, uncommented and without recognition or thanks.

I am very grateful for all the work and effort that the team has put in this last year and wanted to just say thanks for a great 2008/9.

I amd still keen to have my name in there but, I have no time any more due to i have my son due in about 12 weeks and with work taking most of my time now and now my son time is limated, i will still be around for large events but unlikly to be around club. Also the fact it now takes me 45min to get into town and not 10 like before. If my address changes again and i get close to town i will start coming every weekend like i once did.

Thanks All and plese keep the club going we and all the other before us have worked hard to keep it open from everyone to enjoy.

I was going to put forward the idea of a Quartermaster office.
Someone who could take charge of Scenery/Bitz/tables, keeping track of it all, keeping it organised and sorted. organise repair work and so on.

Since I don't think I'll be there on the 22nd, I'd like to field this idea on the forum.
If the job gets past/agreed to, I'd like to nominate Glen for the Job.

Can someone please give me a brief summary of what all these people do?

President - David Stent
Secretary, Warhammer Fantasy Representative - Nick Ng
Treasurer - Karen
Membership Organizer - Matthew Robinson
Website Admin - Regan O'Malley
Warhammer 40k Representative - Wayde
Warmachine Representative - Chris

I would put my name down as I have a lot of enthusiasm and time for the club.  I'm not nominating myself if I don't know what the responsibiliti es are though!

Yeah, now look here you chaps, I don't even particularly want to be secretary! I would be much happier if someone else was nominated. I have not the time or inclination to be honest. Unless of course I can just be the secretary without having to do anything at all... somehow I don't think that will happen, so please, not me for secretary. Wink

Seconded. I think that is a fairly important aspect of the decision to nominate (or accept nomination) and vote

President - David Stent

Ok, the president is the person who makes it all happen. Organises stuff, rallies the troops, keeps tabs on what's going on, signs the cheques.
Secretary, Warhammer Fantasy Representative - Nick Ng

The secretary is the person who takes minutes at meetings, also helps organise stuff and also signs the cheques. The job can also be responsible for any incoming mail/emails that might need to be replied to, possible advertising of events and that sort of thing.

The Fantasy representative does Fantasy stuff. Might run some fun events during the year, especially the CanOpener Fantasy event and the GuardCon Fantasy part. Or find people to do that stuff for them.

Treasurer - Karen

The money person. Take in memberships and keep a record of who has a current club membership, pays for the bills like the monthly hall hire, possible fundraising ideas, also signs the cheques, to put together an annual finance report etc.

Membership Organizer - Matthew Robinson

Helping organise new and current membership in the club.

Website Admin - Regan O'Malley

Upkeep of the website/forums including approving new members, clearing the spam etc. Regan has said he doesn't have the time to do this so I've been doing it for the last few months. This and replying to any club emails that have arrived. I'm quite happy to carry on this role in the new committee.

Warhammer 40k Representative - Wayde

Do 40K stuff... Might run some fun events during the year, especially the CanOpener 40K event and maybe some 40K-ish at GuardCon. (already talking to Wayde about this) Or find people to do that stuff for them.

Warmachine Representative - Chris

Do Wamachine and Hordes stuff. Might run some fun events during the year, especially the CanOpener FoodMachine event and something at GuardCon. Or find people to do that stuff for them.

I would put my name down as I have a lot of enthusiasm and time for the club.  I'm not nominating myself if I don't know what the responsibiliti es are though!

Basically we have to have a President, Secretary and Treasurer, everything else are extras.

I like the idea of having a QuarterMaster position as I'm not really sure what to do with the terrain etc.

You'll be welcome Nitrojuice

The AGM will last 10 - 15 minutes won't stop the gaming, just remember NOT to put your hand up for anything like running for President, we've already got a sucker for that job.

Whoops sorry Nic Wink
