Simon has a pretty good one, I think philfy and wouster also have them.  Mine pertains to things like PC games and so on, at

But my youtube page has hundreds of videos of me talking about various things including tabletop, so if you want to think of that as more of a 'video blog',

- www.youtube.co m/user/vaulsc

Shameless self promotion, people are gonna start thinking of me as a spambot soon.  But you asked!

I know about your's Fuj, you don't write in it enough. I want to see more Batreps!  Angry where are the rest for fluffcon?!  Huh And some pics would be nice :p

It's a good blog, keep up the good work. And to everyone else: catch up - we would all like to know your tactics and sneaky moves :p

Although I'm a bit of a hypocrite as I don't have one myself so can't complain.

cheers to all those who have reported at least one Batrep,
Alex

Much respect to all of you who update your blogs! I think I have managed to stumble across all the ones listed so far and have enjoyed them all!

@Fujin Can't wait to read it from the perspective of the other side of the table. Try not to put me down too much Smiley

Blog updated for better or for worse  Undecided

Finishing the last report for FluffyCon now. Will then wrap it up with an overview of the army, thoughts on the event and a "where to from here" for the Empire lads.

Just bought a new digital camera so will be snap-happy shortly (possibly starting with a game against Derick on Thursday night).

I have a blogger one somewhere, never use it though. Ones in my Sig are updated often, more so the Blood Pact one lately.

Interestingly enough Philfy's Daemons scored him a 'soft card' (get a high enough Nett Comp Modifier - at least +4 I think - and you get a one use reroll thing) and he decided the best way to do this was to play with 1950pts instead of 2000pts. Created some discussion at dinner on Saturday night as those present theorised the possibility of taking a tiny number of insanely hard models and some teeny units worth say 1000pts (and getting a great comp score by 'handicapping' yourself) thereby automatically denying your opponent the ability to get 1000VPs worth of your army (because you don't have it on the table to start with!).

Funny that you mention this.  Actually fielding the 50 pts less was a by-product of keeping my units "tidy" in regards to their movement trays, but it did also occur to me that ther'd be 50pts less on the table.  To be frank I really don't think the comp judges looked at the points difference (they may have done so if I'd been 150pts short!), but rather took into account what was left OUT of the list.  I suspect I scored slightly better than Tony's Daemons in part due to his bigger block of Horrors and thereby being able to throw a supremely nasty Bolt of Change each turn, combined with a master of sorcery on his DP.

If it helps I only got a 12-8 win against Alistairs Nurgle (and that only through things learnt during my 11-9 win over Aarons Nurgle the round before  Shocked)  Oh for want of flamers!

I found the herald on jugger with obsidian armour really frightening.  What's the best way to take him down?  Can't warmachine him as he's in a unit, can't use a magic item that negates armour because your magic weapon won't work, and it would take a while to beat that unit down with combat res.  What do you find threatens you most when you are playing daemons?

Shooting.  40khammer frightens the hell out of daemons.  Which is why WE's do well against them...  lotsa shooting and a refusal to "come to grips".   Your units of TK archers always hitting on 5's had me worried in the early stages of our game Luke...  hence why I sent my fast(er) moving daemonette block their way after distracting them with my flying crap that I was quite happy to throw away.  DE's are also worrying to Daemons thru sheer volume of missile fire.

People seem to have tended to field Kh Heralds with a Flaming Str 7 sword and 0+ save through Armour of Khorne.  I find that obsidian armour helps much better in regards to preventing as much as possible that "assassination" of my 2 wound BSB by magic sword wielding character-type opponents (obviously).  Obsidian Armour is also an option that aids in comp over the flaming sword I believe.   He is "less" scary in 2250 pt games - mostly because you have more tools to use against him and his unit, as well as more other things to kill and hence stay away from the "letter block.

Anyway... my daemons were obviously soft...  I got a fluffy re-roll card and only placed 25th overall!  Roll Eyes

I play daemon, i use 2 heralds on jugger with armor of khorne. the best way to take them down:

1. Lore of metal
2. killing blow
3. shooting.

if u play tomb king, tomb scropion is probably the best.

No offence intended - just an observation that prompted some interesting discussion. I gather you weren't that handicapped and feeling like you really missed the 50pts Smiley  Also ties into the comp debate about having "Tier 1" armies using less points overall (the "Daemons get 2000pts armies in a 2250pt tournament and Ogres get 2500pts to spend" argument).

None taken!  And no, not at all.  but then I wouldn't have with any other army either.  And...  it worth noting that Ogres didn't do too bad at all for the weekend on the same points quaiff?

Yup - Ogres are defintely better in "fluffy" events.

Everyone else gets 'worse' and Ogres pretty much stay the same.

Hey Phify, where'd you get that quote from? there is a random conversation going on here and I have no idea where it came from. I was hoping for this thread  to get stickied so everyone who came to this site could find the club member's blogs, but not with it straying. . .

You mean you haven't read the blogs?  Its from one of them  Grin Grin  What better way to advertie a blog than to discuss it?

Apologies though for the derailment of sorts...

Haha. Phil's quoting from my blog Smiley

Updated btw - round 6 of FluffyCon, post-tourney thoughts and an army review. Next post will be the 2250pt list for Nationals and then it all starts over with a new series - playtesting games leading up to Nats, reports (this time with photos!), post-tourney thoughts.

On the horizon is a new army. Hrm... time to learn how to paint bone really really well...
