Q. Are grudges allowed at FluffyCon?
A. No. Making sure the first round draw works appropriately for new players and also for old hands trying to run TUNED armies is too important :-)

Q. Will there be a "blood rule" so that players can avoid playing their regular opponents? i.e if you are drawn against a regular opponent you can ask to play someone else
A. As long as time permits and as long as the players concerned are not in the top third of the draw I will try and accommodate this. If interest so far equates to registrations, FluffyCon will be a biggie - and therefore a big headache :-)

Q. Their are two different versions of the victory point table - one on the Battlecry site and one on CSS Nick's webpage. How come?
A. Me not being able to see the wood for the trees. The real table will be on your score sheet for reference at the tournament. Its not wildly different. Apologies for any confusion.

Q. Are you competing in FluffyCon Nick?
A. No. I will amuse the guy who would otherwise have the bye if there is an uneven number, but thats all. Its a shame, as it is the one tourney I would love to play in :-)

Q. So what are numbers looking like?
A. Hard to tell at this stage but I have had about 10 draft lists and one real one. The real one is SOFT.
I know that the following teams are keen, but we are still a way out from the event:
The Christchurch boys playing as Team Turd A bunch of Worriers as Team Green The Battlefront guys Ray and his shore boys CSS Nick and the Kerikeri Longshots
Add in another Worriers team or two based around Reid, Phil?, Vod and Glen ("Why can't I use Red Fury and the Dread Lance?") Tibbles.
Add in a couple of CG teams
I think Rob has some mates from the shore lined up.
It will be flufftastic.

Q. Can I use the new Lizardmen book?
A. No - "All armies must use an Army book that has been published and released in New Zealand by 19 January 2009."
Q. Can I use some "themey" bollix from White Dwarf then?
A. See above

Q. Is the Ogre Hunter a "shooter" or a "war machine" in terms of the hard caps?
A. Good question. Treat as warmachine for hard caps.

8 lists in so far - all different races.
Please indicate who your general is - if leadership is identical I can't read minds :-)

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask... Would a mount option that is purchased from special/rare slots count towards character cap? (Obviously the character themself would count, but does the chariot/stegadon count?)

Its the right place to ask.
A Steg mount is going to count against the 750 points on characters limit.
The fact that is also a rare choice expended is not germane.
Ditto chariots.

Have received and checked 17 lists. Thanks guys - keep 'em rolling in- then I dont have a last minute rush getting them into a suitable format to send off to the judges Monday/Tuesday next week.
12 different races represented. No sign of Bretts, Skaven, Dwarfs or Chaos Dwarfs on the horizon as yet.

Hi Darren
Spoken like a true wargamer. Nice
At the event - nope
Food, coffee, soft drinks available at venue. Nearest dairy IIRC is a couple of blocks away FYI
Derick's answer much better than mine :-)

Eastridge Shopping centre is about a 2 minute drive away, down Kepa rd. They have a Bar, supermarket, Sushi shop and a few cafe's.
There are shops within walking distance: From the venue turn left on Kohi rd, maybe 300m, Corner of Kepa, Hell's Pizza and Bottle shop From the venue turn right on Kohi rd, maybe 300m, Corner of Allum, Noodle shop, not sure what else
Mission Bay is closer than St H & there's no bottleshop at Kohi. I'd be heading for Eastridge myself.

Not bad for an "experimental" event :-) I have four teams filled up so far. Please find some friends people :-) If you want to be assigned - let me know (no promises) - we dont have enough new players not already in a team to run 4 man teams - so its 3 all the way. N

Hi I have nothing to do with the organization of the convention - I am just the WFB TO. However I think the answer is "no it isn't" - but why not PM Menolly for a definite answer? Don't shoot the messenger :-) cheers Nick

Sorry but as BattleCry is a family event in a charitable trust venue which doesn't have a liquor licence and we have not budgeted or paid for an alcohol licence there is to be no alcohol on site please. We do not want to get the venue into trouble, nor do we want any trouble that could put future events into jeopardy. As mentioned previously there is a bar in the Eastridge shops. So its ok for me to bring beer into the event?

Late list amnesty
List 34 was late and from a new player. I am expecting another new player to be list 35. As encouraging new people is one of the objectives of the event I have extended the cut-off date to Wednesday 5pm.
Lists received after that will be penalized. No lists accepted after Friday unless that creates an even number and at my discretion. (I have to be fair to the comp judges).
This is not a licence for those who have already sent me lists to dick around and change them.
peace N
